How TikTok Shop seller fees work
TikTok Shop charges a referral fee on each order — 6% for most categories in its published US rate table, with lower rates in a few categories such as jewelry. The fee is worked out on what the buyer pays for the items, not on shipping or sales tax, and payment processing is included.
Some sellers report the standard rate rising to 8% in 2026, so check the rate in your Seller Center and pick the matching plan. If creators sell your product, their affiliate commission comes out of the sale as well, and it is often the biggest cost.
Worked example: A $30 order with free shipping and a 15% creator commission

- Profit after $4.50 shipping and $8 item cost:

At an 8% referral rate the fee is $2.40 and profit drops to $10.60.
- New US sellers can get a reduced referral rate for their first 30 days; there is a preset for it.
- Affiliate commission is set by you per product, so it is the fee you control most.
- Discounts TikTok funds are added back before the referral fee is worked out; discounts you fund are not.

- How much does TikTok Shop take per sale?
- Its published US rate is a 6% referral fee for most categories, charged on the item amount the buyer pays. Creator commissions, if you use affiliates, are on top. On a $30 order with a 15% creator commission, TikTok keeps $6.30 in total.
- Did the TikTok Shop fee go up to 8%?
- Several seller resources report the standard US rate rising from 6% to 8% in August 2026, while TikTok’s public rate table still showed 6%. Check the rate shown for your category in Seller Center and choose the matching plan in the calculator.
